Aurora: Hike The Many Trails
Sheppard’s Bush. A scenic and lush greenspace of 65 acres in the heart of Aurora. With three kilometres of trails, soccer fields, picnic areas, and several other amenities, it’s a favourite for families and people of all ages. It’s a highly forested area, with a ravine along the river. You can connect to other trails from Sheppard’s Bush, including Holland Landing on the Nokiidaa Trail or Palgrave to Rice Lake on the Oak Ridges Trail. It’s a beautiful destination all year long.
Tim Jones (Nokiidaa) Trail. This is Aurora’s longest trail which extends through the town to Newmarket. Patrons can access local amenities including the Aurora Family Leisure Complex, the Aurora Town Hall and the Aurora Seniors Centre. The trail also passes through the Aurora Community Arboretum, Lambert Wilson Park, and Sheppard’s Bush.
The Aurora Community Arboretum. This is a picturesque hiking destination in the middle of Aurora. It features 100+ acres of wood and parkland.
Newmarket: Enjoy The Culture
Riverwalk Commons
Riverwalk Commons hosts year-long events in Newmarket. This includes things like Canada Day, and Newmarket Music Series, as well as regular farmers’ markets. There are a variety of restaurants, a water pad, and even a skating rink in the winter.
